Artists Statement

Jan Cleveringa is a contemporary, multidisciplinary artist exploring impacts of global cultural change, attitudes and identity resulting in painting, sculpture, video and other forms and materials within a wide experimental arts making practice.

 

Awarded Grants

2016    Blacktown Arts Centre Creative Arts Fund, Blacktown City Council– To create “Evolve”, a series of paintings inspired by electronic sketches made by misusing various phone app software reducing to pixel and screenshot and so forth whilst talking about social impact of the phone on ideas of social interaction, global cultural change and beauty.

2016    Blacktown Arts Centre Creative Arts Fund, Blacktown City Council– A mural community engagement project for two Homeless Group Homes for challenging young people suffering from past abuse, drug and alcohol and dual diagnosis and detention issues.
